Lentil spread

Hummus is hip! The classic spread can be prepared in countless variations. We have developed a generous red lentil spread especially for you. Creamy yet savoury, velvety yet spicy - this royal showstopper has it all!


for 4-8 persons

190 g orange lentils
2 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp tomato puree
1 clove of garlic, pressed
2 tbsp fresh coriander or parsley, chopped
2 tsp harissa
2 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp turmeric
2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
Freshly ground salt and pepper to taste

Preparation Lentil spread
Rinse the orange lentils under cold water. Put them in a pan with a teaspoon of salt and enough water to cover the lentils. Bring to the boil and then let it simmer for about 10 minutes. Drain and leave to cool in a sieve. Add the lentils with the rest of the ingredients to a food processor or blender. Puree until smooth and season with salt and pepper. Serve with sprouts for extra flavour and crunch.

Orange lentils. Lentils have a slight nutty flavour and are delicious raw, but steamed even better! Lentils are also very suitable for stir-frying, in dips, soups and salads.
